Branding – Logo – Visual Identity
The City of Detroit is a unique blend of culture and experience. These qualities lend themselves to uncovering an unexpected visual identity. The underground music scene has pioneered genres like techno, house and hip hop.
The logo I created was inspired by Motown, city skyline, and highway markings. I wanted to create something super bold and reminiscent of moments around the city. The neon palette paired with the sound waves brings an exciting energy. The sound waves were created from drawings of cities and abstracted by use of a scanner. The brand takes a modern and playful approach to a city with a rich history of industrialism.
